Oftentimes, dehydration is the reason. When you start to dry up and need water, you’re prone to irritability and fatigue, as well as unpleasant changes in mood. But what are some other signs that you might need to fill up the tanks?
Bad breath is another. People tend to blame this misfortunate on poor dental hygiene or garlic-rich meals, but dehydration is often the culprit. It minimizes saliva production, which causes bacteria in your mouth to run rampant and reek.
Muscle cramps are another clue, and when you don’t get enough water they can seize up in the heat. You might also suffer from a craving for sweets. When your body lacks water, it has difficulty in production glycogen, which triggers a craving for sugary treats.
Are you having trouble getting through your workout? Don’t blame a shocking decline in your fitness level. If you’re dehydrated, your blood pressure can fall. This, in turn, makes your heart work harder and decreases your capacity for exercise. Aside from difficulty in exercising, you might also experience blurred vision. If you don’t have enough fluids, your eyes can dry out, making your vision blur.
Another way to see if you’re dehydrated is to give your skin a good pinch. If you need water, your skin will lack elasticity. It will appear thin and won’t bounce back quickly.
